Campus roundup: first years in suites, parking update, more!

Welcome back! Here’s what’s happening on campus:


As of press date, the registrar told The Defender the school does not have up-to-date numbers on first-year enrollment. Numbers below reflect a report given at Faculty Assembly on Aug. 23.
First year class size/new students:
462 First year students
28 transfer students
49% male, 51% female

New majors:
Latin, Data Science,
Education Studies, Statistics
New minors:
Latin, Data Science, Statistics, Crime and Justice, American Studies

Parking passes:
500+ main campus permits
200+ Ross / Tarrant passes
150+ north campus permits
“By splitting (permits) into Ross/Tarrant and Main Campus (zones) we have reduced the number of people that are competing for the spaces near residence halls,” said Doug Babcock, director of public safety. 

Students living on campus:
1613 students total
34 first-years living in Cashman, Pontigny, and Canterbury
54 first-years living in Alumni
