Vermont State Police estimated more than 2,000 people attended March for Our Lives gun control rally held on Saturday, March 24, at the Vermont Statehouse. The event was one of 800 gun rallies held in the US and around the world that same day. Although the majority of those who spoke at the rally were students, several state legislators and teachers attended the event as well. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Peter Welch were also there, though they did not give speeches. March for Our Lives was a campaign organized by survivors from the Feb. 14, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and intended to enact gun reform laws. The primary rally was held in Washington D.C, and more than 200,000 people were reported to have attended.
